This past weekend I was able to see a group of people that came into my life all about the same time and over the years they have moved to different states and parts of Atlanta so I don't see or even talk to them daily or weekly for that matter ... but being able to spend a few days with them made me realize why I haven't gotten back out there and made more friends that are here in Atlanta.
Would it be nice to have a go to girls group that is close by /// sure. How about giving someone a call to catch a inpromptu concert with /// of course. However, I realized I have friends. I have them in NJ, CO, AZ, IL, TN, FL, TX and I am okay with that. I also know that even though the few that are still here in Atlanta were not the original ones I was closest with, they are my friends and reaching out to them for a girls night or a movie etc is an option that I need to do more.
So ... today ... I get to once again see some friends that I was close with about 12-15 years ago and I know it will be like we were never apart.
Cherish the ones around you that care ... don't focus on the few that don't.
